Adult Courses Aimed at beginners, the courses are designed to give hands-on experience using a number of production methods such as press moulding, coiling, slab work, sculpture, decoration Evening & Daytime Courses 2010 Evening Classes 2010 Daytime Classes Spring term: week commencing 1st February Two-hour classes offered over a 12-week term to small groups (up to six) so that particular attention can be provided to each individual. During this time you will be given advice and assistance to create your own work using a white earthenware clay body. Fees include the firing and glazing of 2 chosen pieces. Any further items will need to be paid at cost. If, at the end of the course you still have unfired work, you are welcome to come back and complete it during any of the courses listed or make a deposit towards keeping it for the following term. Any unclaimed work will be recycled/discarded one month after the end of term. Aprons are provided but please wear suitable clothing. As numbers are limited early registration is advised, so contact me to check availability. Classes may be paid for weekly on arrival, 10 Euros per class, or you can save 20 Euros by paying for the whole
Any two consecutive days. 10.00h – 12.00h and 14.00h – 17.00h Courses are arranged by request with a minimum of 2 students per course (either booked individually or together). Please contact me to arrange a date. After demonstrations of various hand-building techniques, small groups (up to six) will be given guidance, advice and tuition in order to produce their own work. If you would like your own objects to be fired/glazed, they will need to dry thoroughly which can take up to 4 weeks depending on their size & the weather. Students are welcome to return and glaze their items during any one of the courses listed or at a mutually agreed time. Alternatively, if you would like an immediate souvenir you can glaze an item chosen from my stock selection. I can contact you after firing to arrange a convenient time for you to collect your work or it can be posted at an additional cost. Drinks are provided but you will need to either bring a packed lunch or go to one of the local restaurants (please see the links page for further information). All courses are non-residential so those travelling any distance will have to make their own arrangements (please see the links page for local accommodation). Introducing Pottery Decoration 14.00h – 17.00h Saturday or Sunday If you’re not sure you can commit to a 12-week course why not come along to an introductory half-day session. In 3 hours you can discover the wondrous alchemy of glazing by designing and decorating your own individual masterpiece. The price includes firing one glazed item of your choice, which can be collected or posted the following week. Introducing Pottery Decoration - 36.00 Euros per person.
